Hi I’m Nicole. She/Her
It’s not easy to begin the first steps towards improving your emotional well being. I’m so glad you’ve come to learn more about me and my passion for helping people heal and grow. With over 20 years of experience in the field, I offer short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy.
About me
Allow me to tell you a little about myself.
When I was 16 years old, I volunteered at a local women shelter. I had the opportunity to listen in on two therapists discussing their work with clients. I was in awe. This was the very moment I said to myself, “that’s what I want to spend my life doing”. I remember the moment like it was yesterday. It was only a few short years later, I began my education to become a social worker.
I began my journey supporting clients in Toronto, working with children and adults towards violence free lives. I continued my work with adolescents who were pregnant or parenting. I also have years of experience working in medical social work with clients facing complex medical issues. I have a strong passion and many years of experience working with women who have faced domestic violence and trauma. I have provided short- and long-term therapy to clients for the past 12 years in busy non-profit community-based settings in Hamilton and Halton. Here I have treated many individuals facing various mental health, relationship or life concerns. Through these experiences I have grown to appreciate the power of people to heal, grow and change their lives with many different presenting concerns in their life. My work thrives on connection and building trusting relationships, and allowing the strength and resilience of clients to guide their path. I feel so fortunate to be able to say that there is not a day that I have gone to work where I do not look forward to meeting with people like you – and learning about how I can facilitate an open space for change.
